What is already working

The account is already consolidated

13 ad sets carry all spend today. In August the account ran 61. Fewer ad sets means more purchase signal per ad set, which is the foundation of everything that follows.

Incremental attribution is already being tested

Four ad sets ($33,783, 34% of spend) optimize to incremental conversions. That is the same test our structure runs on top ads, so we keep it and give it a clean read.

The ScrewStud drop found buyers fast

72 purchases on $1,893 in four days (3.42 ROAS, $26 per purchase). A small read, but a clear sign that new-product drops are worth their own ad window.

MagStuds is the most efficient evergreen set

$8,817 spend, 134 purchases, 1.47 ROAS against 1.09 for the account. We monitor whether it earns more budget.

Account structure

The principle: a few campaigns, each with one job

The old way

A new campaign for every moment

Each sale restarts learning. History is scattered across campaigns that are mostly off.

The Rosewater way

Standing campaigns, named by job

Consolidated ACQThe engine: every evergreen ad, ad sets by product

Consolidated RTNExisting customers
Moments ACQ / RTNOne campaign for every sale and drop
UnderspendersSecond chance
Top Ads CC / INCBid and attribution tests

Always on. Sales switch ad sets on and off, not campaigns, so learning carries forward.

Campaigns split by job and audience. Product categories live one level down, as ad sets inside the engine. Each color drop runs as new ads inside the live moment ad set, plus a customer version in RTN.

ACQ = new customers, RTN = existing customers. mROAS = ROAS goal, CC = cost per result goal. 7DC1EV = 7-day click, 1-day engaged view, our default; INC marks the incremental test. Same token order on every account, so any column in Ads Manager can be searched or grouped by one token.

Diamonds mark the creative kit approval, five days before each window. The Moments campaign stays on all season; an ad set switches on at its start date and off at its end. Drops (Arctic Camo, Glow Tie-Dye, Perfect Pink, Retro, Blacked Out ToolKit Mini, Real Red, Blue Glow, Navy or Tie Dye) go in as new ads inside the live window.

How an ad moves

Every ad has three possible paths

Evergreen ad

Into the engine

Built, checked, launched by default into the established ad set for its product.

Earns spend: stays live and gets iterated. Top spenders also go to the Top Ads tests.

Little spend, 2+ weeks

To Underspenders

Moved in the every-two-weeks prune, so the engine stays lean without throwing away untested creative.

Earns spend there: brief an iteration. Still nothing: off.

Sale or drop ad

Into a Moments ad set

Kit approved five days out, ad set built and checked, switched on at the start date.

Window ends: ad set off, campaign stays, winners can re-run next moment.

  1. New ads go into established ad sets. A new ad set only for room (50 to 100+ ads), a break-out winner or a new category.
  2. Sale ads never enter the engine. They lift evergreen ROAS during the window and drag it after.
  3. Top spenders stay alive. Pruning only moves the weakest low spenders.
  4. No standalone site retargeting. The engine reaches cart and checkout visitors; closing creative (proof, objection handling) does the work.
Sizing

Budget decides how many ad sets can learn: $633 a day each

The rule
CPA × 7.14 = daily budget per ad set

Meta needs about 50 purchases per ad set per week to learn. At your $89 cost per purchase that is $633 a day per ad set.

At today's $3,336 a day, the budget keeps about 5 ad sets learning. That puts MODL in the medium tier: five standing campaigns now, with the tests added as budget grows.

What it means for Q4
  • Now to mid-November: engine, Moments, plus the incremental and tCPA campaigns you already run.
  • Black Friday to mid-December: last season peaked at $55,000 to $75,000 of Meta spend a day, enough to fund every ad set in the map and the Top Ads tests.
  • Order of adding campaigns: RTN, DABA, Underspenders, Moments RTN, then the Top Ads tests.
Attribution

One attribution default, one test

Attribution setting today Meta, last 30 daysSpendShare
7-day click, 1-day engaged view$53,31253%
Incremental$33,78334%
Includes 1-day view$12,97413%

Running more than one setting is normal and often deliberate. Our job is to read every number on one setting and optimize to the one with the most room.

  • Default: 7-day click, 1-day engaged view on every new campaign. It is the setting we report on.
  • Test: incremental attribution keeps running on the top ads in its own campaign, judged on new-customer cost and overall efficiency, not its own ROAS.
  • 1-day view: the two ad sets on it (MagStuds, Origin Story) move to 7DC1EV when they are duplicated in January; an attribution setting only changes by duplicating.
Rollout

The rollout protects Q4 performance

Phase 1 · Now to Nov 12

Rename and build Moments

  • Rename live campaigns and ad sets to the convention
  • Build the Moments campaign: All Colors Up and Glow SuperTools first
  • Pre-Holidays, BFCM and Holidays ad sets built and checked, off until their dates
Phase 2 · Nov 13 to Dec 25

Run the season, no rebuilds

  • Moments ad sets switch on and off with your calendar
  • Engine keeps its learning; budget moves before bids
  • Tuesday and Thursday checks on spend, revenue and new-ad share
Phase 3 · January

Consolidate the engine

  • Merge Infinity Tool and ToolKits sets into the engine
  • Add RTN, DABA and Underspenders
  • 1-day-view sets duplicated onto 7DC1EV

Short-term performance comes first. Nothing that resets learning happens between Pre-Holidays and Christmas.

What it means for the ads
  • Lead with use cases. Versatility, camping and travel are the top three themes and the highest rated; each is a persona lane for the Creative Demand Model.
  • Answer price before it is asked. Price is the most common objection and the lowest-rated theme; bundles, kits and "replaces a drawer of straps and hooks" framing do that work.
  • Gifting is already in the voice of the customer. 172 reviews mention gifts; they become proof lines in the holiday batch.
